I do not wait for people to find me; I go and find them. I target people advertising for SEO on Craigslist, Backpage, etc., and I target people in my area doing PPC advertising on Google. I also go after the poor fools using automated SEO tools that create a searchable footprint on their pages.
To win the business once I make contact, I use my keyword research tools to discover my client's keyword opportunities and competition. A 3-4 page report is all it takes to get the business. It closes the deal 7 out of 10 times.
The cost to deliver backlinks in my business model is about $.06. The rates I'm charging my clients are $.33, $.27, and $.22 per link, depending on the monthly purchase volume.
Using outsourced help in the USA, I can handle setup and distribution of 1,200 backlinks per hour. To get the work, I invest 3-4 hours of time with each new client. A client with me for a full year of backlinking service is worth $100 to $200 per hour, depending on the volume of backlinking purchased. The volume of business you take and the amount of outsourcing you employ will determine your results.
